I am done.. But not because I couldnt hang but because of my connection. Its not bad but its enough to bug me and jam my punches up. It skips a bit. some times worst with diffrent fighters other fighters my connection is fine.

I am using the same provider and every thing but diffrent computer newer and better.


Its weird a few years back using comcast(same as now but even higher connection 16 MB) same server my ping and other comcast users was 55-60 now my ping is 106-128. Ive tried several computers just to test this along with diffrent modems and same thing. Even tried other people that have comcast same stuff.


Like I said its fine with i'd say most of my fights but with a few fighters it jams up pretty bad. I think COMCAST is going down hill or some thing.

Probally just the server.
Because i never lagged EVER b4 around 04-07.
But when i came back now in 09 i skip all the time.
I have the exact same connection (verizon) and modem with better PC.
But now i skip all the time..

Yea maybe who knows. Cant complain even if it is the server... They are expensive. I am picky I guess I rather lag then have skips. Skips will stop my punches during a combo and jack me up. Lag it might be slow but when I throw a 1-2 it will atleast throw.

Like I have said a million times before, it's down to how many people use the internet now. When I first got it back in 2000, I had a light speed connection and could do just about anything no problem, but as the years rolled by and the internet grew more popular, my connection got slower and slower especially at peak times.

When I first played this game late 2004, I had a ping of 85, it's now 125, my conncetion is awful after 6pm on weekdays and unplayable Sunday evenings, why?, because you have more people in the year 2009 sitting on their butts using the service providers bandwidth on 5 downloads at once, Xbox/Playstation online gaming and people just surfing. I can see this problem getting alot worse and like you HTF my connection skips I'm just getting sick of it, maybe it is the server, and the fact 3D is running off the same server? and as I mentioned probably also down to the popularity of the internet now.

I also think that because of the volume of people who now have internet, it now makes Mikkel's server outdated and he would possibly need a new one because my gaming problems are not bad when I play XBOX Live, but of course new servers are alot of money and Mikkel has done enough already without burning a hole in his pocket especially in this economic climate.

It is indeed the bottleneck BS that has happened to most, so many people trying to send so much data at once and the systems (& cables) they have now just can't handle it.

It's all that virgins fault, not Skillz I mean the company

@HTF - I never got that invite dude, not being ignorant or anything I just never got it and I'm hardly at the comp now adays. Take it easy anyway and hope all goes well in whatever you get upto

HTF try to run a ping onlineboxing.net -n 200
and post the result here..
There really shouldn't be anything wrong with the server..they upgrade it every second year for free..
Besides..any 200 mh computer with 32 mb ram could run the 2d server and the 3d server as well.
I'd say maybe even a 100 mhz with 8mb.
What's expensive is the connection not the server.

I will in a sec ive done it just about 10 hours ago. At that time the ping stayed lower 100s then it would jump to 150,129 then back down to lower 100s then jump back to 160 and thats were the skiping comes in I belive.

During the fight at times it will be nice then it jumps to the 160 and what not. Right now if I do it I bet it will stay lower 100s and only gain lil bit before going back down and averaging out at a lower ping but hey its 4:30 AM and thats probably why.

See thats now and I can fight on this just fine with out having problems but most of the time instead of it jumping to 124 MS it will jump to 160 like i said in others. Gotta be comcast and all the people using the net which I already figured just bugs me.

See thats now and I can fight on this just fine with out having problems but most of the time instead of it jumping to 124 MS it will jump to 160 like i said in others. Gotta be comcast and all the people using the net which I already figured just bugs me.


Thanks to your help I finally figured how to stop my computer taking a wireless connection. I also done this ping test and it showed no connection jumps!, just a solid 113-118, so hopefully when I fight no more skips, thanks HTF.
